This is a beautiful and rare pair of vintage Japanese porcelain bookends featuring a colonial-style man and woman. The figures are hand-painted with intricate details and are accented with 22K gold, adding a touch of elegance.
The man is depicted in a white jacket with floral patterns and black shoes, while the woman wears a frilly white dress with similar floral designs and red shoes. Both figures are leaning against a decorative column.
Each bookend measures approximately 3 x 1.625 x 5.125 inches.
Stamped "Made in Japan" on the bottom. These pieces are in excellent vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age. They would make a perfect decorative item for any collector of Japanese porcelain or colonial-style decor.
Made circa 1950s to early 1960s. Minor wear as expected with age.
