Beautiful vintage Schatz 400‑Day torsion clock, made in Germany, featuring a brass top and back with glass front and side panels.
The rotating torsion weights spin freely, and the clock includes its original wind‑up key.
The movement will advance in minute increments, but does not fully function because the connecting rod between the minute regulator and torsion mechanism is missing. A clocksmith or hobbyist may be able to repair or fabricate the needed linkage.
The clock measures approximately 8.25" tall, 5⅛" wide at the top, and 4.25" deep, and weighs 2 lbs 12 oz. Brass surfaces show normal age‑related patina, and the glass panels are intact.
Dial is marked Schatz 400 with Roman numeral hour markers. A lovely display piece with restoration potential.
