Here is a original vintage Abraham Lincoln metal bust promotional coin bank manufactured by Banthrico, Inc. of Chicago, USA.
This heavy-duty metal bank features a detailed, sculpted portrait bust of Abraham Lincoln in a warm copper/bronze-tone patina.
The front shoulder base is cast with the name "A. Lincoln" in script lettering. The lower back features a raised oval plaque embossed with: "LINCOLN BUILDING & LOAN ASSOCIATION, LOUISVILLE, KY." The underside reveals the original steel trap plate clearly stamped "BANTHRICO, INC. CHICAGO, U.S.A." with keyhole lock mechanism and coin slot. .
Size is 5.25" H × 3.75" W × 3.25" D and weight: is 1 lb.
Displays a rich, aged bronze/copper luster across the face, hair, suit collar, and bow tie. Shows mild natural surface wear, light oxidation/tarnishing, and minor finish rub in higher relief areas (such as the top of the hair and brow) consistent with vintage age.
The lock mechanism is intact (key missing). The back oval lettering remains legible despite natural age fading.
The Lincoln Building & Loan Association in Lousiville was open from the early to mid-20th century.
Banthrico, Inc. was founded in Chicago, Illinois, and became famous across the United States for producing high-quality die-cast metal souvenir and promotional banks for banks, savings institutions, and credit unions.
