Bring home a piece of early 20th-century European artistry. This antique hand-painted porcelain dinner plate (8.5" diameter; 0.75" deep) was crafted by the Oscar & Edgar Gutherz factory (O.&E.G.), Vienna Austria, circa 1918.
• Design: Scalloped edge with a .1875" wide gilt band, pale green border adorned with pink florals, and a thin inner gold band framing the white center.
• Markings: Backstamped “Vienna Austria” with crown and initials, plus hand-applied artist’s initials “L.C.R.” in gold.
Condition: Displays beautifully, but some areas of the gold trim show light fading consistent with age and use. No cracks, chips, or repairs observed.
• History: The Gutherz brothers were renowned for producing fine porcelain between 1899–1918, exporting extensively to the U.S. Their pieces were often hand-decorated by studio artists, making each plate unique.
Collectors prize these for their Austro-Hungarian craftsmanship and delicate floral artistry.
This plate is ideal for collectors of Royal Austria porcelain, lovers of Vienna Secession-era design, or as a decorative display piece in a curated home.
