Rare and historically significant 1901 Masonic commemorative plate from the Pittsburgh Commandery No. 1, Knights Templar, crafted by Knowles, Taylor & Knowles Co. in East Liverpool, Ohio.
This 8" diameter vitreous porcelain plate features:
• A lady in late 19th-century attire: pink jacket, green dress, black hat with pink ribbon
• A garland of large flowers draped across her shoulders and waist
• Rich gold gilt detailing around the rim and in the ornate border
• Natural but stable crazing, consistent with age
• Stamped maker’s mark: Vitreous Porcelain – Knowles Taylor Knowles Co.
Plate Text Reads:
• PITTSBURGH COMMANDERY No. 1, K.T.
• TWENTY-EIGHTH TRIENNIAL
• LOUISVILLE – 1901 – KENTUCKY
This plate commemorates the 28th Triennial Conclave of the Knights Templar, held in Louisville, Kentucky.
