Rare and historically significant 1898 Masonic commemorative plate from the Pittsburgh Commandery No. 1, crafted by Knowles, Taylor & Knowles Co. of East Liverpool, Ohio.
This 8" diameter vitreous porcelain plate features:
• Two pheasant-like birds in a natural setting
• A crown and red cross emblem, symbolic of Knights Templar iconography
• Rich gold gilt detailing around the rim and in the ornate border
• Natural crazing (stable) consistent with age, adding vintage authenticity
• Stamped maker’s mark on reverse: Vitreous Porcelain – Knowles Taylor Knowles Co.
This piece commemorates the 27th Triennial Conclave of 1898, a ceremonial gathering of Masonic Knights Templar.
